Here’s a fun fact about Lil Wayne: he doesn’t go to the gym. In fact, the only “gym” he says he knows is Jim Jones. The rapper shared the tidbit on a recent interview with Zane Lowe on Apple Music 1, where he also discussed his diet, his relationship with Drake and Billboard/Vibe‘s list of the 50 greatest rappers of all time.

Wayne says he’s had a personal chef for two decades, a hire he made at the request of his chef mother. With someone to cook his meals, he’s avoided fast food so much that he can’t even identify the smell of McDonald’s.

A simpler task for Weezy was supporting and nurturing a young Drake at the start of his career.

“It was easy for me,” he explained. “It was obvious. I saw what he could be and would be. It was easy for me to keep motivating him and letting him know what it is.”

“Doing a song with me. It was just that simple,” he continued. “Him knowing, ‘I can go blow for blow with you on a joint’ — that was his motivation. That’s his chip.”

Wayne had the means and platform to help Drake, as he’s had a successful rap career of his own. Hearing he was #7 on Billboard/Vibe‘s list of the 50 greatest rappers of all time, he asked, “Man, who the hell is before me? Was the list including all hip-hop, like, before and after, as well?”

“I can deal with that. I will tell you that I am a motherf***ing (number) one. Everybody whose names you named, they also know I’m number one,” Lil Wayne said. “Go ask ’em. They know what it is.”
