H.E.R. explains hiatus, teases new single

H.E.R. spoke to fans “live from the studio” Wednesday and talked about her upcoming single.
“It’s been a long time coming,” she said of the song on Instagram Live. “I went through a lot last year. It was a tough year, can’t even lie. I’ve been making the best music I’ve made, I think ever,” she added before slightly altering her sentiment. “Nah, I’m not gonna say that. I’ve been making really good music, really honest music.”
H.E.R. then played a few seconds of the song, noting, “That’s all I can give you, but I’m so excited. I’ve never been so excited about something. It’s been a long time, so I’m very, very proud, and I’m just in a really good place and a really honest place.”
H.E.R. has been out of her signature shades, working as Gabriella Sarmiento Wilson in Beauty And The Beast Live and the musical remake of The Color Purple. It’s unclear when her new single will come out.
