The NFL Wild Card Game on Nickelodeon is returning this year after its Emmy Award-winning debut in 2021. CBS Sports analyst Nate Burleson and play-by-play broadcaster Noah Eagle will join Nick star Nevaeh Green on the call while fellow Nick star Young Dylan will serve as the sideline reporter.
Like last year’s game between the New Orleans Saints and Chicago Bears, Nickelodeon’s NFL Wild Card broadcast is aimed toward kids and features Nick-themed elements such as slime cannons and a special halftime show.
“The collaboration between the NFL, Nickelodeon, and CBS Sports for our first NFL Wild Card Game on Nickelodeon was terrific and exceeded all expectations,” NFL Wild Card Game on Nickelodeon coordinating producer Shawn Robbins said in a statement. “We look forward to another exciting, slime-filled, Nick-ified presentation and the return of our talented team in the booth. Last season, Noah, Nate and Gabrielle connected so well with viewers with their chemistry, enthusiasm and knowledge, and we know our NFL Slimetime co-host Young Dylan will be an excellent addition as sideline reporter, completing this fun-filled crew.”
The 2020 NFL Wild Card Game on Nickelodeon – the first-ever kid-centric NFL broadcast – was a raging success from both a numbers and critical perspective. It was Nick’s most-watched program in almost four years and helped Nickelodeon become Twitter’s No. 1 trending topic in the U.S. that afternoon. The program also won Sports Emmy for Outstanding Playoff Coverage and Outstanding Live Graphic Design.
