Ex-Browns player appears to mock Baker Mayfield with revenge tweet after QB sends out heartfelt message

It took nearly three years, but it seems former Browns running back Duke Johnson was finally able to get some revenge on Baker Mayfield, and he did it in the form of a wordless tweet.
With trade rumors swirling around Mayfield, the Browns quarterback took to Twitter on Tuesday night to share a message that basically sounded like a heartfelt goodbye to fans in Cleveland. In the message, Mayfield told fans that he has “no clue” what’s going to happen next.
Mayfield tweeted that message out at 10:03 p.m. and less than 20 minutes later, Johnson sent out a tweet of his own. Of course, the one big difference between Mayfield’s tweet and Johnson’s is that the running back’s message didn’t include any words.
What Johnson tweeted out is a GIF of a train on fire and that was almost certainly not by chance.
If you’re wondering what that GIF has to do with Mayfield, it’s pretty simple. Back in June 2019, Johnson made it clear he was unhappy in Cleveland, which led to the running back making a trade request. During a press conference that Mayfield had shortly after the request went public, the QB had a message for Johnson: “You’re either on this train or you’re not.”
Although Johnson never said anything at the time about Mayfield’s comment, it clearly irked him, because that’s the only reason you would send out a tweet mocking Mayfield nearly three years after the comment was made. I MEAN, THE MAN WAITED 33 MONTHS TO SEND OUT THAT TWEET. That is the amount of petty that most of us could only dream of aspiring to.
The good news for Johnson is that the Browns did end up granting his trade request when they shipped him off to Houston. After two seasons in Houston, Johnson spent the 2021 season with the Dolphins, but is now a free agent.
As for Mayfield, he could become just the third quarterback ever to be selected with the first overall pick and last less than four seasons with the team. With the Browns trying to land Deshaun Watson in a trade, it seems the team has mentally moved on from Mayfield, and even if the Browns don’t end up making a deal for the Texans‘ QB, it’s hard to see Mayfield returning to Cleveland.
