NBA DFS: Luka Doncic and best FanDuel, DraftKings daily Fantasy basketball picks for March 19, 2022

Written by on March 19, 2022

The 2021-22 NBA regular season is winding down, but with the NBA playoffs right around the corner and dozens of teams still in the mix, every night on the NBA schedule is still providing meaningful action. For NBA daily Fantasy players, that makes projecting minutes distribution a little easier. Finding the right balance for your NBA DFS lineups, however, is still a challenge. The Lakers are trying to hold on to a spot in the Western Conference play-in and they’ll take on a bunch of familiar faces on Saturday night when they play the Wizards.

Russell Westbrook was acquired from the Wizards during the offseason and has had a trying season in Los Angeles, but he is coming off a 22-10-10 triple-double in a win over the Raptors on Friday. Should you be rostering Westbrook as he takes on his old team, or are there better ways to spend your cap space in the NBA DFS player pool? Before you make your NBA DFS picks for Saturday, be sure to check out the NBA DFS advice, player rankings, stacks and top daily Fantasy basketball picks from SportsLine’s Mike McClure.

McClure is a DFS professional with nearly $2 million in career winnings. He’s also a predictive data engineer at SportsLine who uses a powerful prediction model that simulates every minute of every game 10,000 times, taking factors like matchups, statistical trends and injuries into account.

This allows him to find the best NBA DFS values and create optimal lineups that he shares only over at SportsLine. They’re a must-see for any NBA DFS player.

On Friday, McClure listed Nets forward Kevin Durant as one of his top NBA DFS picks on both DraftKings and FanDuel. The result: Durant had 38 points, six rebounds and six assists to return 53.5 points on DraftKings and 49.2 points on FanDuel. Anybody that included him in their lineups was well on the way to a profitable day.

Now, McClure has turned his attention to the Saturday, March 19, NBA DFS slate and locked in his top daily Fantasy basketball picks. You can only see them by heading to SportsLine.

Top NBA DFS picks for Saturday, March 19

One of McClure’s top NBA DFS picks on Saturday is Wizards forward Kyle Kuzma, who is listed at $8,000 on DraftKings and $7,000 on FanDuel. After spending his first four seasons with the Lakers, Kuzma was traded to the Wizards as part of the Westbrook trade and he’s become this offense’s primary option with Bradley Beal out.

For the season, Kuzma is averaging 17.1 points, 8.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game but since the NBA All-Star break, Kuzma is averaging 21.2 points, 7.1 rebounds and 5.7 assists per game. Kuzma had 23 points, seven rebounds and three assists in a loss to the Lakers last week, but he’s a clear threat for a big night with the Lakers visiting Washington on Saturday.

Another part of McClure’s optimal NBA DFS strategy includes rostering Mavericks guard Luka Doncic ($11,800 on DraftKings and $10,900 on FanDuel). After getting off to a slow start this season, Doncic is averaging 32.7 points, 10.1 rebounds and 8.1 assists per game since the start of February and is shooting 38.4 percent from the 3-point line.

The 23-year-old is already a three-time NBA all-star and he’s averaging 28.0 points, 9.3 rebounds and 8.6 assists per game for the year. He’s also been making larger contributions at the defensive end, as he is averaging career-highs in steals per game (1.2) and blocks per game (0.6). Doncic will match up against a Hornets defense on Saturday night that ranks 23rd in the NBA in defensive rating (113.0).
