Jhené Aiko is having the time of her life doing karaoke with her family and friends at a party, until a special someone catches her attention in her new visual for Happiness Over Everything (H.O.E).”
Between playing cards and slow body rolls, the R&B singer works the room sparking up conversations with any guy that catches her eye. The song’s message is very clear: do what makes you happy and have fun.
The video opens with Future and his mischievous grin and lyrics, while singer Miguel lends his soft tone vocals on the hook, paired with Andre 3000‘s “Where Are My Panties” skit from OutKast’s Grammy-winning 2003 album Speakerboxxx/The Love Below.
“After all, I just hope you don’t think that I’m some kind of ho (Some kind of ho)/I don’t know, he just makes me feel like he knows what he wants, yeah,” Jehné sings.
The single’s chorus is a reworked version of “Hoe” from her 2011 debut mixtape, Sailing Soul(s), and includes Future in lieu of Gucci Mane. This is the fourth single from Jehné’s upcoming third album, Chilombo, to follow advance singles “P*$$Y Fairy (OTW),” “None of Your Concern” featuring Big Sean, and break-up single, “Triggered.”
Aiko heads out on tour this spring with special guests Queen Naiji and Ann Marie. The Magic Tour starts in May, hitting major cities like Los Angeles, Nashville, Atlanta and Chicago and more.
Tickets go on sale Friday, March 6, the same day Jehné releases Chilombo.
