Liverpool and Chelsea meet on Saturday at Anfield as part of the Premier League’s third matchday with two of the top teams in the table squaring off. Both are 2-0-0 to begin their league campaign, with the Reds having beaten Burnley 2-0, while the Blues dominated Arsenal 2-0. The winner here could finish the day in sole place of first in the league ahead of the international break.

Here are storylines, how you can watch the match, and everything you need to know:

Liverpool and Chelsea Lineups

Liverpool XI: Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Matip, Van Dijk, Robertson; Henderson, Fabinho, Elliott; Salah, Firmino, Mane

Subs: Kelleher, Konate, Thiago, Keita, Gomez, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Minamino, Jota, Tsimikas

Chelsea XI: Mendy; Azpilicueta, Christensen, Rudiger; James, Jorginho, Kante, Alonso; Mount, Havertz; Lukaku

Subs: Kepa, Thaigo Silva, Kovacic, Werner, Loftus-Cheek, Chalobah, Hudson-Odoi, Chilwell, Ziyech

Storylines

Liverpool: The Reds enter the game looking sharp, and that’s mainly been because of how good Diogo Jota has been. He has two goals from two games, and last week he showed once again what kind of impact he can make when he combines his speed and his head. His ability to quickly make diagonal runs inside the box will mean the Chelsea defense will have to be on its feet, and taking your eyes of him for a second can be costly. Just ask Burnley’s Ben Mee. While having Jota makes the team lose a bit of size in comparison with Roberto Firmino, it does give the team a trio of speedy attackers that can cause defenders some big trouble when in sync. Expect Jota to find the space to pull off some decent looks at goal, and if he can bag another, the Reds could be on their way to another victory.

Chelsea: What we saw from Chelsea on Sunday against Arsenal was a team that has the potential to repeat as Champions League winners and take home the Premier League title as well. Beginning a season with Thomas Tuchel in charge, the club has so much depth throughout, and that means bad news for the rest of the league. But, this will be a big test for them against a Liverpool side that is also loaded. Expect Chelsea to look to play down the wings if those Liverpool fullbacks inevitably get forward, and don’t expect them to give up much on terms of looks on goal. It’s going to be battle where a little good fortunate could swing it.
