Namibia: Over 1 000 Debtors Report to NSFAF

MORE than 1 000 debtors have reported to the Namibia College students Monetary Help Fund (NSFAF), whereas the fund says it plans to publish greater than 300 names of mortgage holders courting again to 1998 this week.

After struggling for over a decade to get beneficiaries of loans to pay again the cash, the NSFAF launched a discover two weeks in the past stating that the names of those that owe the fund could be printed, adopted by “acceptable authorized motion”.

By 27 October a complete of 228 debtors have made preparations with the fund to repay their loans – both via debit orders or wage deductions – whereas others made lump-sum funds.

Kandume mentioned the publishing of names was delayed as a result of the fund needed to take away the names of those that approached them within the meantime.

The fund is releasing the debtors’ names to inform them of their debt, since attempting to contact them has been unproductive.

“So, we’re left with no selection however to publish the names of defaulters,” Kandume mentioned.

The beneficiaries are instructed to contact the NSFAF throughout the month, or face litigation or being blacklisted.
