How to watch Nets vs. Pistons basketball game

Through 3 Quarters

We’ve seen some fireworks three quarters in as the Brooklyn Nets and the Detroit Pistons have combined for 195 points. Brooklyn currently holds a 98-97 lead.

The Nets have been riding high on the performance of power forward Kevin Durant, who has 35 points and five assists along with nine rebounds. One thing to keep an eye out for is Kyrie Irving’s foul situation as he currently sits at four.

Shooting guard Cade Cunningham (17 points), small forward Saddiq Bey (15 points), and center Isaiah Stewart (15 points) have been the top scorers for Detroit.

Detroit hasn’t lost 92% of the games in which they were down heading into the final period this year, so a victory here would be refreshing.

Current Records: Detroit 20-55; Brooklyn 39-36

What to Know

After a four-game homestand, the Detroit Pistons will be on the road. They will square off against the Brooklyn Nets at 7:30 p.m. ET Tuesday at Barclays Center. The Pistons have been on the wrong side of a one-way rivalry with Brooklyn and are hoping to record their first victory since Feb. 9 of last year.

Detroit was close but no cigar on Sunday as they fell 104-102 to the New York Knicks. A silver lining for Detroit was the play of power forward Marvin Bagley III, who had 27 points along with seven rebounds.

Meanwhile, the point spread favored Brooklyn on Sunday, but luck did not. They fell to the Charlotte Hornets 119-110. Brooklyn’s defeat shouldn’t obscure the performances of center Andre Drummond, who posted a double-double on 20 points and 17 boards in addition to three blocks, and power forward Kevin Durant, who had 27 points and seven assists along with eight boards.

The losses put the Pistons at 20-55 and the Nets at 39-36. Two offensive stats to keep in the back of your head while watching: Detroit has only been able to knock down 42.90% percent of their shots, which is the second lowest field goal percentage in the league. Brooklyn’s offense has more to brag about, as they they rank fourth in the league when it comes to field goal percentage, with 47.40% on the season. We’ll see if their 4.50% advantage translates to a win.
