Meanwhile, Indiana was within striking distance but couldn’t close the gap this past Friday as they fell 128-123 to the Boston Celtics. One thing holding Indiana back was the mediocre play of shooting guard Buddy Hield, who did not have his best game: he picked up four fouls and turned the ball over five times en route to a 2-for-10, 6-point finish.
The Pistons are expected to lose this next one by 3.5. They are currently four-for-four against the spread in their most recent games, however, a trend bettors might want to take into account.
Detroit’s victory brought them up to 22-56 while the Pacers’ loss pulled them down to 25-53. A couple numbers to keep in mind before tip-off: Detroit has only been able to knock down 43.10% percent of their shots, which is the second lowest field goal percentage in the league. Indiana has experienced some struggles of their own as they have allowed their opponents to shoot 48% from the floor on average, which is the second highest shooting percentage allowed in the league. It’s possible one of these Achilles’ heels will wind up tripping the losing team up.
