The Los Angeles Rams had to win the NFC title against the San Francisco 49ers largely without starting tight end Tyler Higbee. The 29-year-old suffered a knee injury in the first half of the NFC Championship game that required assistance getting to the sideline and ultimately knocked him out for the rest of the afternoon. While Higbee wasn’t able to factor much into that win that has them advancing to Super Bowl LVI, there appears to be a slim chance that L.A. will have him as they try and hoist a Lombardi Trophy.

According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, Higbee appears to have avoided any significant damage to his knee. That said, his availability for Super Bowl LVI will continue to be up in the air and ultimately decided over the next two weeks leading into the big game. That still paints a rather clouded picture for Higbee possibly playing in the Super Bowl, but it’s much more positive news than him suffering an injury serious enough that completely takes playing off the board entirely.

Higbee has been a reliable piece in the passing game for Los Angeles this season. He was third on the team in receiving yards over the course of the regular season and second on the team in receptions, only looking up to star receiver Cooper Kupp

If Higbee is unable to play, Kendall Blanton may see added snaps in the Super Bowl. In the win over San Francisco in the NFC Championship, Blanton caught all five of his targets for 57 yards.
