Talk show host Tamron Hall opened up about her journey with in vitro fertilization, particularly the complicated emotions she felt while undergoing the process.
Hall, 50, candidly chatted about her experience on the Tamron Hall Show Wednesday when the show spotlighted couples struggling with fertility challenges. During the discussion with NASCAR driver Kyle Busch and his wife Samantha, the Emmy winner admitted that she was forced to confront her privilege when undergoing IVF treatment nearly three years ago.
“I have to be honest with you, being in the IVF clinic, for awhile I did feel guilty for being able to afford it,” the talk show host admitted. “I felt like the game was rigged.”
Hall detailed her past struggles when she “grew up poor” because money used to be a barrier for her.
“A 19-year-old single mother brought me home [after IVF,]” continued the talk show host, explaining that she felt guilty for undergoing the treatment because “I had an amount of money that put the odds in my favor in some way.”
Hall, alongside husband Steve Greener, welcomed their first child in April 2019, a son named Moses.
