Team news

Netherlands: Xavi Simons and Cody Gakpo will lead the attacking line against Germany. Nagelsmann’s Germany won 2-1 against Netherlands last March in a friendly. Current Manchester United defender Matthjs de Ligt will play against some of his former teammates at Bayern Munich. De Ligt made 53 Bundesliga appearances across two seasons at Bayern, winning the title in 2022-23.

Possible Netherlands XI: Verbruggen; Dumfries, De Ligt, Van Dijk, Aké; Schouten, Reijnders; Malen, Xavi Simons, Gakpo, Weghorst.

Germany: Germany started a new cycle after the UEFA Euro 2024 without some legends of the team who retired such as Ilkay Gündoğan, Manuel Neuer, Thomas Muller and Toni Kroos by winning against Hungary 5-0 in Dusseldorf and Julian Nagelsmann want to keep going with the same spirit and motivation.

Possible Germany XI: Ter Stegen; Kimmich, Tah, Schlotterbeck, Mittelstadt; Andrich, Pavlovic, Musiala, Groß, Wirtz; Havertz.

Prediction

Despite their opening wins, the draw is the most likely result for Tuesday’s game in Amsterdam. Pick: Netherlands 1, Germany 1.
