WWE SummerSlam set the stage for a huge five months in professional wrestling. Roman Reigns returned for the first time since WrestleMania to fire the first shot in a Bloodline vs. Bloodline storyline, The Judgement Day imploded and multiple new champions were crowned.
Gunther was one of four superstars to win titles at SummerSlam, defeating Damian Priest to become world heavyweight champion. Gunther will proudly carry that title to his longtime home of Germany for the inaugural Bash in Berlin pay-per-view on Aug. 31. “The Ring General” makes his first title defense against the man he controversially defeated in May’s King of the Ring finals, Randy Orton.
In recent years, major international events have been a key business point for WWE. The promotion starts a fresh four-country run beginning with their PPV debut in Germany. WWE subsequently returns stateside for Bad Blood in Atlanta on Oct. 5, Crown Jewel in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on Nov. 2 and their cornerstone Survivor Series: WarGames in Vancouver on Nov. 30.
