Saints vs. Jets odds, picks, line, how to watch, live stream: Model reveals 2021 Week 14 NFL prediction
Written by Luck Wilson on December 12, 2021
In the post-Drew Brees era, the Saints just did something they hadn’t done since the pre-Drew Brees era. New Orleans (5-7) has lost five straight games in a single season for the first time since 2005, which was the year before Brees and Sean Payton arrived on the scene. The Saints will look to end their skid on Sunday vs. a Jets (3-9) team that is one defeat away from its seventh 10-loss season over the last decade. In select markets, you can stream the game on Paramount+.
Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. ET from MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J. Caesars Sportsbook lists New Orleans as the 5.5-point favorite in the latest Saints vs. Jets odds. The over-under for total points opened at 44 but has steadily decreased to its latest number of 42. In select markets, Sunday’s matchup can be seen live on CBS and streamed live on Paramount+ with their must-have Premium plan.
Paramount+ now has levels of membership so you can watch your local NFL on CBS matchups and much more. Week 14 NFL picks for Jets vs. Saints
Before you tune in to Sunday’s Saints vs. Jets game, you need to see the NFL picks from SportsLine’s advanced computer model. The model, which simulates every NFL game 10,000 times, is up almost $7,200 for $100 players on top-rated NFL picks since its inception six-plus years ago. The model enters Week 14 of the 2021 season on an incredible 132-94 run on top-rated NFL picks that dates back to the 2017 season.
The model also ranked in the top 10 on NFLPickWatch four of the past five years on straight-up NFL picks and beat more than 94 percent of CBS Sports Football Pick’em players four times during that span. Anyone who has followed it is way up.
For Jets vs. Saints, the model is backing the under (42). New Orleans’ offense is in shambles with injuries affecting every position. QB Taysom Hill is playing through the same finger injury that sidelined Russell Wilson for a month, and it showed in his performance last week. Hill threw four interceptions and only two of the Saints’ 14 drives ended with touchdowns.
One of those touchdowns was to Deonte Harris and the speedster has now been suspended for three games. Harris has the Saints’ three longest TDs all season (72, 70 and 55 yards), so now the offense is robbed of its most explosive player. The SportsLine model doesn’t project any Saints player, let alone a wideout, topping 42 receiving yards on Sunday.
The Jets are also dealing with key injuries to their offense with their top two rushers, Michael Carter and Tevin Coleman, as well as their top two receivers, Elijah Moore and Corey Davis, all out. This game is shaping up to be one devoid of playmakers, leaving both quarterbacks overmatched. That’s why the model projects Hill and Zach Wilson to combine for at least three interceptions as they barely total 400 yards through the air. The model also has the teams totaling 40 points with the under (42) hitting almost 60 percent of the time.
