The 2021 NFL preseason will conclude on Sunday, when two up-and-coming rosters will go head-to-head in a Week 3 preseason matchup as the Miami Dolphins visit the Cincinnati Bengals. Both teams have split their first two preseason contests. The Bengals have announced that quarterback Joe Burrow will see his first action since tearing his left eight months ago, while the Dolphins went the opposite route, giving Tua Tagovailoa 34 pass attempts over the first two games but opting to sit him on Sunday. Preseason Week 3 NFL picks for Bengals vs. Dolphins

Before you tune in to Sunday’s Dolphins vs. Bengals game, you need to see the NFL picks from R.J. White. White, a Fantasy and gambling editor for CBS Sports and SportsLine, ended the 2020 season on an 80-59 run on all NFL picks, returning more than $1,400 during that span.

It’s no surprise, as White has cashed huge twice in the world’s most prestigious football handicapping competition, the Las Vegas SuperContest. White is also on a 34-21 run on his picks involving Cincinnati, returning almost $1,100 on those selections. Anyone who has followed him is way up.

For Bengals vs. Dolphins, White is backing the Dolphins (+1.5) to cover the spread. Even with Tagovailoa sitting on Sunday, Miami’s defense is coming off an impressive performance against the Falcons in which they allowed just 253 total yards and limited Atlanta to just 2-of-9 on third-down conversions in a 37-17 win.

Meanwhile, the Bengals only managed 213 yards in a 17-13 loss to Washington and rhythm was a major issue, with Cincinnati going 4-of-13 on third downs. Reports from training camp have been that Burrow can still look uncomfortable at times on his surgically repaired knee, and Brian Flores’ defense had four sacks last week despite Atlanta only dropping back to pass 19 times in the game.

Flores’ defense ranked sixth in scoring defense last season and also led the NFL in takeaways with 29. White expects a basic Miami defense to apply pressure on Burrow that he hasn’t seen since getting injured. That’s a big reason why he likes the Dolphins to limit Cincinnati’s scoring. He was backing Miami as 1.5-point favorites, so he’ll take the additional points on Sunday.
